There is no need to book a place on the campsite for this years Beltane at Thornborough. Upon arrival, please drive into the Dippy Field and find yourself a pitch. Please be aware that small children will be running around on the campsite and to drive with due consideration of this fact at all times.
Campsite Opening and Closing Times:
The campsite opens on Saturday morning (April 30th) and closes on Monday (May 2nd). Please try to leave by early Monday afternoon at the latest.
Donating to the Cost of the Campsite:
This year, the entire cost of running the campsite will be met by voluntary donations.
No-one is obliged ot pay, but in order to cover the unavoidable costs of providing the campsite, we recommed a minimum donation of £3 per adult per night. There will be a donation box on site.
(In the event that we collect more than we need, any surplus will be donated to a local good cause).
Fires, Noise, Dogs and Rubbish:
There will be a large communal fire in the Dippy Field.
If campers wish to have their own fires then please ensure that these are safely contained, attended by an adult at all times, and that the remnants of these fires are cleared away before leaving the campsite. Please also bring your own firewood to conserve our main supply.
Please be aware that excessive late-night noise could easily drift down to the nearby village of Thornborough. Consideration for not causing a disturbance to local residents is of paramount importance at all times.
Dogs are welcome at the campsite so long as they do not cause a nuisance to other campers.
Campers are required to take all their own rubbish home with them. This is a simple 3 step process:
1: Bring sufficient refuse sacks for the weekend.
2: Put all your camping rubbish into the sacks.
3: When you leave the campsite (and this is the very important final step), take all your refuse sacks (containing your rubbish) with you.
Thank you for your cooperation.
Water and Toilet Facilities:
There will be portable Toilets (including one disabled toilet) in the Dippy Field and some additional toilets at the entrance of the Cursus Field.
Drinking water points will be positioned along the east side of the Dippy Field (towards the Henge).
Campervans, Caravans and Motorhomes:
Campervans and caravans are welcome to camp.
In Summary, the Principles of Camping are:
Respect the land,
Respect each other,
Have a good time!
